KellyChampagne Silk Dupioni and Embroidered Organza Kelly was a very petite bride who was having trouble finding an elegant dress that didn't overwhelm her small frame. This halter sheath make her look beautiful. SatomiWhite Silk Dupioni and Charmeuse Wedding Gown with Organza Wrap Satomi's dress was made from a Vera Wang commercial pattern. The Silk Organza wrap and handbag are orginal designs. Satomi covered the 2 dozen silk buttons herself. HilaryWhite Silk Chiffon Eyelet and Silk Charmeuse This dress was inspired by Jane Austen and the Regency period. Hilary wanted a simple dress that was comfortable to wear yet still appropriate for her outdoor wedding. Sample GownItalian Linen, Silk Dupioni and Embroidered Silk Organza I made this dress as a sample, to see how linen would look in a classic gown. Lined with cotton, this dress is incredible comfortable, even for a summer wedding in Texas. |
MeredithWhite Silk Duchesse Satin with Beaded Lace/Organza Godets Meredith's gown was modeled after Meryl Streep's 2006 Oscar Gown. She chose heavy weight silk duchesse satin in pure white. The godets were created by applying lace motifs to silk organza and then applying pearl beads. LisaWhite Silk/Hemp Dupioni and Silk Charmeuse Lisa wanted a gown of natural fibers, since she is sensitive to synthetic fibers and dyes. She loved the texture of the hemp and silk blend dupioni. Lined with cotton batiste, this dress was elegant, but light and cool to wear. She also had me make a matching baby sling for her new son. JulietteMauve Silk Dupioni, Chiffon and Charmeuse This was my own wedding dress, the first custom wedding gown I made. I used a commercial pattern, making major alterations. Details include matching dupioni piping and charmeuse covered buttons. |

AshleyTurquoise and Tan Embroidered Brown Taffeta Ashley found a classic white halter gown at "Brides for Breast Cancer", and had me remove the original white silk dupioni skirt and replace it with a beautiful cholocate brown embroidered taffeta. We used some of the white dupioni for the bottom band of the skirt. |
EmilyWhite Organza and Satin with Pickup Skirt Emily fell in love with this dress, but then had second thoughts. She had me change the neckline, add the band at the hip, and change the pickup skirt. The original dress engulfed her. This redesigned gown flattered her petit figure perfectly. |
